October 2020 Newsletter
As the weather begins to cool from the heat of the summer months, our team has turned its attention to the fourth quarter. We have begun our final appeal of 2020! In addition, we are planning to move our essential services back indoors safely. Finally, we dealt with our very first encounter with Covid-19. The staff conducted themselves in accordance with guidance from Craven County’s Health Department and have maintained safety in our Shelter and Community Kitchen. Community outreach has continued to be a major priority and we have begun to see some fruit! This month, I had the pleasure of being nominated as one of New Bern’s “52 faces”! As we look forward into October and the end of the year, we will continue to build on our momentum, confront our challenges, and settle into our “new normal”!
