COVID-19 UPDATE
Community Kitchen
RCS continues to play an active role in providing relief to those in need within our community. Due to COVID-19, we have had to make some modifications to our daily routine. We have been following protocol established by the Governor's office so that our guests and volunteers remain safe and healthy. Please see below for updates to our Community Kitchen, Food Pantry, and Clothing Closet. We have also posted food and volunteer needs during this time as well. All hot meals are available "to go" from 10:30am - 11:45am Monday through Saturday and 8:30 - 9:30am on Sunday.
Clothing Closet
We will be opening up our clothing assistance for appointments as of May 1st. This is seasonal clothing and is only available every other month.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is dispensing groceries daily. However, during this crisis, clients needing assistance are asked to call RCS at 252-633-2767. Requests will be taken by phone and instructions given on how the client should proceed. For other requests from Client Services, call 252-633-2767.
Volunteer Needs
We need volunteers who are interested in the following:
- distributing our "to go" meals
- preparing "to go" meals
- delivering meals to locations in need of food
Giving Levels:
$40: provide “to-go” Meals for 1 guest for 1
week.
$60: provide lunch pack meals for 1
weekend for 5 children
$120: provide lunch pack meals for 1
weekend for 10 children
$160: provide 1 week of groceries from Food
Pantry for a family of 4
$240: provide lunch pack meals for 2
weekends for 10 children
$600: help 1 family with rent + utility payments
for 1 month
$850: purchase 1 month supply of food
containers for "to-go" meals
$1200: provide meals for RCS Community Kitchen
guests for 1 day
$2400: provide rent + utility payments for 4
families
$6000: fund lunch pack meals for 2 months
URGENT Food Needs
- spaghetti sauce (plastic bottles)
- dry pasta
- one pound bags of rice
- peanut butter
- canned meats
- canned vegetables
- soup
- cereal
- canned ravioli, spaghettios
