From the Board Chair

RCS is able to fulfill its purpose and address its challenging mission because of the generous support of churches and individuals who want to share with others – especially those individuals and families among us in Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties who are struggling financially and spiritually.

In these incredibly trying economic times, many of us have had to drastically reduce household and personal expenses and rethink our budgets.  Many more of us are now out of work and facing monumental fiscal peril – and those numbers will likely increase significantly during 2010.  We see more and more people who need help with food, rent and utilities, and clothing.  The need for RCS – and for sharing with others – is far greater than in the past.

Our Board consists of volunteers who are dedicated to serving those among us who are in need of basic sustenance.  We are proud of the stewardship demonstrated by RCS with public and church gifts and the fact that we can stretch those dollar, food and clothing contributions to help adults and children in critical need.

We invite you to come by the offices, tour our Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry, Clothing Closst, Homeless Shelter and Warehouse, and learn more about this marvelous organization.

We invite you to comment and raise questions on how we can enhance and improve our services.  And yes, we proudly invite you to get involved, volunteer your time and talents and make a food donation or monetary gift to support our programs.  Make an investment in your fellow neighbors through RCS.
