Empty Bowls is an international project designed to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations at the community level. 

RCS partnered with Craven Arts Council to present New Bern's first, and very successful, Empty Bowls event on Febraury 11, 2010 at Temple Baptist Church.

Two thousand "lights of hope" honoring the contributions of RCS were displayed.

Linda Cotten and Gary Lingman presented over $1800 in donations to Bobbie Hewlette.

choosing a beautiful hand crafted pottery bowl made by local artists....

their choice of two delicous bowls of soup from over 50 of the best soups available in New Bern.....

and, superb entertaintment while they ate!
